Departmental Advisory Board

What is it?

It is team of peoples like Industrialist, Academician, Parents and Alumni (former students) to advice the department for its enhancement.

Aims:

  1. Bringing industry standards in academic in order to bridge gap between industry and academics,
  2. Improving department by its structure and its academics by understanding the current and former students need by their parents and alumni respectively and
  3. Departmental queries which expects advice to consider enhancing the departmental business process.

How it works?

The department calls Advisory Board meeting once in the semester. Following steps describes its working…

  1. Department prepares the agenda of departmental queries and action taken report.
  2. The meeting organized by the department.
  3. Advisory board members review the last meeting discussion point and action taken report and verify it.
  4. Department discuss the points of agenda and receive expert advice upon.
  5. Department implement the advice by taking necessary and sufficient actions.
  6. Go to step 1.

Include design of material handling system in syllabus of Mechanical System Design.

It is under consideration and it may be included in the  next structure of the B.E. Mechanical (Mechanical System Design) syllabus.

Take additional / Expert lectures on design of material handling system.

Adjunct Professors are instructed to take the expert lectures on  design of material handling system.

Outside committee should be formed to check the project reports one month before the exams & prepare the check-list for drawings, 3-D models etc.

The R & D cell has been doing the same job as to check the Project Reports and prepare the checklist for drawings, 3D models etc.

The faculty members should attend the STTP workshops for full duration.

It is conveyed to the Dean, Faculty Development Cell and also to faculty members.

Study of non-conventional sources like solar energy, wind energy should be given more importance.

a) A separate subject of Energy and Power Engineering for BE Mechanical is incorporated.

b) Dr. Sane has conducted the expert lecture on non-conventional energy sources.

Student’s Drawing Readability should be improved

Drawing Readability contest will be conducted in the Ist semester of 2017-18.

Students should be motivated for agriculture equipment’s based projects

Students have taken the Agriculture Equipment based Projects.

a) Remote Controlled operated Pesticide Spraying Machine.

b) Peanut Peeling machine.

Arrange Solar Power Plant visits for BE (Mech) students.

It will be conducted in the Ist   semester of the academic year 2017-18.

Refer the formats of standard Dissertation Reports from various reputed journals, for BE project reports.

The structure of standard Dissertation Reports has been finalized by Dean,

R & D cell.

One hall should be Solar Powered in the college.

It is under consideration & the Proposal will be put up in front of HOD & Hon. Principal.

Faculty should deliver lecture on STTP that they attended.

It has been made compulsory to deliver the lecture on STTP subjects for faculty members.

Include the study of agricultural based equipments in syllabus.

It is considered in TE Mech. Mini Projects & BE Mech Projects.

Motivate students for government sector jobs, competitive exams like MPSC, UPSC etc.

Internal faculty delivered lecture on T.E. Mech ( Div A & B) dated 29 June 2016 by Prof. P. S. Dharigouda and it is under planning to deliver for S.E and B.E. Mech.

2.

Department should address the engineers associations working on nearby areas & try to develop repo with them, so that benefit for betterment of students’ academics as well as for placement can be achieved.

Experts of MPSC, UPSC & Bank  exams will be called to deliver the expert lectures.

3.

Faculty should publish papers on international journals, which are published from outside India, similarly students should also be motivated for the same & faculty should get this done for students of PG and UG.

It is instructed to Faculty Development Cell  for further action.

4.

Faculty members should try to eliminate gap between students & teachers by maintaining healthy communication with them so the students will get motivated to interact with teacher for the difficulties in curriculums as well as extra curricular activities.

It is made compulsory for PG students to publish at least two papers on their dissertation /project project work.

5.

Faculty members should interact with students to get placed through campus interview process & try to know the special qualities in them which cause them to get selected.

A Proctor Meet is conducted after every fifteen days, to motivate students for for their difficulties in curriculur.

We have conducted motivational lectures of the placed students for their juniors.

6.

Faculty members/ management should undertake or find some acts/ tasks,  that will improve the learn ability of the students.

We have included :

a)      Mini project & seminar

b)      Augmentation program

c)      GATE expert lecture

7.

While facing NBA re-accreditation, department should focus on implementation of paper work shown.

Expert lecture of vice principal Dr. A. K. Gupta has taken the scope of paper work.

8.

Students should take industrial based / application oriented projects. At the same time, students should encourage to perform actual work task when going for industrial training or project work.

Projects guide are strictly instructed to monitor the students’ project work & motivate to work in industry.

Talked about industrial project report preparation and suggested that technique of project report preparation should be taught to TE Mechanical students.

Project Coordinator delivered the expert lecture on Third Year (TE) about the modalities of the Project  Report Preparation.

Suggested that corporate ethics should be inculcated in students before they pass out from institution

The training coordinator had given expert lecture on the above topics and the awareness of this activity will be continued throughout the

Academic year.

Talked on how entrepreneurship qualities can be inculcated amongst students and discussed on various ways for the same.
