The college started in 1992 with three departments and Mechanical Department was one of them. In 1992 intake capacity was 60. In 2004 intake capacity was increased 120. From its inception, Mechanical Department is reputed for its knowledgeable, hardworking and caring faculty members as well as enthusiastic, intelligent and disciplined students. Mechanical Department is well known for presenting consistently good academic results and excelling in co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities.

Several of the Mechanical students have excelled in various fields bringing laurels to the department. Many of the past students have brilliant carriers in industries. Several have achieved higher degrees such as Ph.D. in various IIT’s. Many students have studied and settled abroad. There is excellent coordination among students as well as among student and faculty members. Many student have conducted several programs such as expert lectures, competitions etc. through the students association. The department has ties with ISHRAE and SAE through which many activities have been conducted. Department has conducted many augmentation programs to enhance students technical knowledge and soft skills.

To have holistic development of all the courses by following participating management methodology, healthy HR practices, strong industry participation and continuous development in physical resources.

Short Term Goals :

1. Updatation of labs by procuring PC controlled equipments.
2. Enriching the labs through student’s projects.
3. Qualification improvement of faculty.
4. To start PG Courses in various specializations.
5. To establish well developed research centre.
To conduct remedial classes.
To improve performance in University Exam.
To inculcate the awareness of self learning in the students
To provide soft skill training to the students.
To conduct Aptitude Test & G.D. for practice.
To establish self learning facility.
To provide concerned software for practice.
To provide GATE/GRE/TOEFEL, coaching from experienced faculty.

To improve department to such an extent that it can be recognized at state level
To march towards zero percent failure in university examination.
To march towards 100% students campus placements with decent packages.
To achieve maximum students success ratio in competitive examinations.

Program Spectific Outcomes defined by the program:

Possess comprehensive knowledge of Engineering materials, their physical & Mechanical properties and applications
Analyze, solve and draw meaningful conclusion from the solution of design manufacturing and power related problems
Possess adequate knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing, heat power, measurement and Quality Control (processes, tools, equipments accessories etc) and skill to apply them appropriately.
Ability to use software packages related to modeling, analysis and manufacturing.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) :

To prepare students for successful careers in industry & as entrepreneurs that meet the needs of Indian & multinational industrial sector.
To develop the ability among students to synthesis data & technical concepts for application to product development.
To provide opportunity for students to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary Projects & to develop interpersonal skills & coordination.
To provide students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific & engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve & analyze engineering problems & to prepare them for graduate studies

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, & an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, & analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, & engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems & design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations,
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge & research methods including design of experiments, analysis & interpretation of data, & synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
Modern tool usage: Create, select, & apply appropriate techniques, resources, & modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction & modeling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
