Computer Science & Engineering Department is started in the year 1999 to cater growing needs of industry for Computer & IT professionals. Initially the intake was 40, and in the academic year 2007-08 the intake is increased to 60. The total number of students passed out till now from the department is 237. There are 13 faculty members and 9 technical staff members working in the department. There are 7 laboratories in the department which are well equipped with 162 computers having latest configurations. All the laboratories of the department are well connected by high speed LAN.

The department is having good number of licensed software’s like MSDN Academic Alliance which comprises of Microsoft Operating Systems, .Net, Visual Studio and various Microsoft Platforms etc. , Red Hat Linux, Anti-virus software and most of the ware open Source Software’s.

Program Outcomes (PO/s)

The skills, knowledge and behavior that students acquire as they move through this program are delineated below. In particular

Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
Design/ Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an under- standing of the limitations.
The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.
Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

To employ logical for the analysis of computer programs and use proper debugging and testing skills, modify them so that they function efficiently. To adapt industry standards for writing programs.
To design and implement the network security solutions and the databases of corporate quality.
To design, implement and add various services for operating system and libraries for compilers.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering offers undergraduate degree program: the Bachelor of Computer Science & Engineering. The educational objectives of this program reflect the mission of the Department and the College. The program objectives are as follows:

To provide computer engineering fundamentals, logical, statistical and scientific principals underlying computing and information processing.
To provide solid foundation in principles of computer science and apply that knowledge to variety of problems.
To provide professional and ethical attitude, soft skills, multidisciplinary approach and ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
To develop an ability for pursuing higher studies, research and development computer science and engineering, consultancy and entrepreneurship.
